Lottery
Every buy is a ticket. One ticket wins each round.
A Lottery coin runs rounds. During a round, every buy of at least 0.01 HYPE on Surgo is a ticket, weighted by the HYPE you spent. When the round ends, one ticket is drawn.
The rules
- Rounds last 5 minutes, 15 minutes or 1 hour, chosen by the creator. A round starts with its first ticket.
- Your chance is your share of the round's tickets: spend 1 HYPE in a round with 10 HYPE of tickets and you have about 10%.
- The coins from your ticket buys are held until the round ends, then released to your wallet automatically.
- The winner receives 80% of the pot as it stood when the round closed. 20% seeds the next round.
How the draw is decided
When a round ends it is closed on-chain and committed to the hash of the next block. Once that block exists, the draw uses its hash to pick a ticket. Every ticket is frozen before that hash is known, so nobody can react to it. Anyone can run the draw; Surgo's keeper does it within seconds.
HyperEVM has no on-chain randomness service, so the block hash is the source. A block producer could in theory influence it; the amounts at stake make that impractical, and the whole draw is open source and verifiable.
